HAPPY SUNDAY!
I have a daughter-n-law that no matter what the day of the week greets me with the word, “Happy” and the day of the week,
as in Happy Sunday! I always respond back, “Happy Sunday”.
Growing up, I loved to watch
the cheerleaders at our school during pep rallies and games. They were always smiling and so full of energy. I especially loved to see their off-court cheer spirit when they would say things like, “You’re awesome, that’s great, you can do it!” People may have found them to be cheesy or disingenuous, but I loved it! I understood it took work for them to maintain their high-level energy. It did not mean that everything in their lives was great, but, to me, it reflected their belief that they could
influence the course of their day, and the day of others, by what they said and how they expressed themselves.
It may not always be easy, or even feasible, to consistently greet the day with the highest level of energy or cheer spirit. However, setting a daily intention, a stated belief about what we desire to create in the day can help us reach that goal. It is like saying, “today is a great day,” before the day has begun.
I have heard people say, “fake it until you make it”. What if we changed that to, “make it until you make it”? Could what people perceive as being fake, be an unmaterialized belief? Instead of always waiting for what we say to match how
we feel, what if we could experience our best selves and best day with a simple energized introduction?
Happy Sunday!
Love and
blessings,
