SHINE BABY SHINE!
I remember growing up singing the song, “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!” I can still remember my yelps of joy, clapping hands, dancing, wiggly body, and stomping feet. In those moments, no one could dim my soul’s happiness or feeling of complete
freedom.
I believe we all have that inner child-like essence. That part of us that longs to be free and dance around barefoot, not caring what anyone thinks. A part of us that is filled with love, and joy, tosses back our heads and says yes to the world around us.
Somewhere along the way, our shine can dim. Shine takers can include the barrage of news we hear that often leaves us wondering, “why can’t we all just get along?”, or people around us who don’t appreciate our beautiful quirkiness, the color of our skin, what we believe, or any feature about us that makes us special and
unique.
I must admit, over the years my little light has grown and waned from time to time. It is only when I remember the truth of who I am that it is relit and glows to its original brilliance. For me, it’s when I bask in the presence and love of God, I feel inside me.
What makes you shine? What ignites your little light? Find your truth. Hold on to it then shine Baby, shine!
Love and Blessings!
