It's Easier to Die than Live...
These are the words lifted from a conversation I had with my twenty-five-year-old sister after she had been diagnosed with lymphoma and felt like giving up.
I revisited the same thought after my husband was recently diagnosed with cancer. Life’s challenges can easily drain us. However, at
every crossroad lies a decision: will I fall into the comfort blanket of my fears and collapse under the weight of my worries or, will I surrender my worry to faith and believe in something greater than what I can see?
Choosing to give up can feel easier than the energy needed to fight for what you desire. However, faith courageously lives in the present with eyes wide open. Faith finds the lesson in the struggle and elevates itself through a fighting hope that transcends our reality and breakthroughs to the realm of our possibilities.
I’m glad, over twenty years ago, my sister made the harder choice, the choice to believe in a destiny greater than her reality. She now lives cancer free. I’ve decided to do the same. While I understand
today's challenges are necessary, I believe that through faith, I get to create the quality of my future. The best choices aren’t always the easy ones. However, I believe my dreams are worth fighting for. How about you?
